Artwork guidelines

What resolution should my file be?

300 DPI or higher gives the sharpest print. Lower-resolution files can still work for smaller sizes, but may look soft at 8"+ prints.

PNG, JPG, PDF, or SVG — which is best?

Transparent PNGs work best for DTF transfers since there's no background to remove. JPGs are fine for full-bleed designs. SVG and PDF both work well for vector artwork.

What's the difference between "Print As Is" and "Artwork Review"?

"Print As Is" sends your file straight to production — free, and best if you already know it's print-ready. "Artwork Review" has us take a real look first and flag anything that might not print clean, for a flat $9.99.

Applying Your Transfer

Press instructions

Follow these steps for a clean, durable press every time.

Press the transfer

300°F for 15 seconds, firm pressure, on the prepped garment.

Cold peel

Let it cool fully, then peel the film away slowly and evenly.

Final press

15 more seconds using teflon (glossy finish), parchment (matte finish), or another shirt (soft, matte finish) on top — this also protects the print and distributes heat evenly.

Heat

300–310°F — cotton and blends
300–310°F — polyester

Pressure

Firm, even pressure across the full design.

Tips & Tricks

  • •Ensure the pressing area is completely flat, with no seams, collars, or hems in the way of the platen. Use a pressing pillow to raise the area if needed.
  • •Teflon gives a glossy finish, parchment gives matte, and another shirt gives a soft matte finish — all three also help prevent damage and distribute heat more evenly.
  • •Start your peel close to the boldest part of your design, and avoid starting near fine details.
  • •Peel the carrier sheet back over itself, instead of away from the shirt.
  • •Lay the finished garment flat and let it cool completely before folding, to avoid permanent creasing.
